How to display Google Maps on you car screen?
1.Android Auto (wired or wireless)
Android Auto is Google's official system that mirrors apps on your phone (such as Google Maps, Waze, and Spotify) onto your car's display screen.
How it works:
- Connect your Android phone to your car Android screen via USB or wireless connection.
- Your car stereo will switch to Android Auto mode.
- You can access Google Maps using voice commands or the touchscreen.
PS: If your current vehicle does not support Android Auto, consider upgrading or replacing your in-car Android control screen, such as Hisound's Car Android Player! With a variety of models and prices to choose from, we can find the best solution for you. Of course, most models support both wired and wireless Android Auto.
2.Apple CarPlay (for iPhone users)
For iPhone users, CarPlay is the equivalent solution.
How to use:
- Connect via Bluetooth
- Make sure to select CarPlay
- Use the navigation map via the CarPlay page
Please ensure:
Your iPhone is running iOS 12 or later.
You have installed the Google Maps app from the App Store.
Many third-party car audio systems, such as the Hisound Android car audio player, support dual compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, making them ideal for family or shared vehicles.
3.Car Android Player with Built-in Google Maps
Some in-car systems come with Google Maps built-in.
Some in-car stereos support software downloads.
Advantages:
No need to connect your phone.
Supports direct input of GPS data via offline or online maps.
Large touchscreen for a safer experience.
Easy to update and install other navigation apps.
For example, Hisound's latest Android in-car player features:
Android 12 system
Supports Google Maps
Support for 4G/WiFi real-time traffic updates
Split-screen mode, supporting multitasking
4.Mirror your smartphone screen (Wince Car MP5)
If your in-car radio does not support Android Auto or CarPlay, screen mirroring is another option.
Method:
- Download Google Maps on your phone
- Connect via a wired or Bluetooth Mirror Link connection to mirror your phone's screen onto the car's display.
The downside is that you must control the map app via your phone.
The advantage is that it's more budget-friendly and cost-effective.
