Car Android Player GPS Signal Weak or Inaccurate?

2025-12-02

For Modern Cars

Many new models do not include a visible OEM antenna, which may reduce GPS sensitivity when installing aftermarket Car Android players.
How to improve GPS:

  • Use the external GPS antenna included with the Android unit.

  • Place it on the dashboard near the windshield, away from metal panels and metallic window film.

  • If the signal is still weak, upgrade to a high-gain active GPS antenna to increase satellite lock speed and accuracy.

For Older Cars With Original Antennas

Older vehicles often have traditional antennas, but they may not support modern GPS or may interfere with aftermarket systems.
Fixes:

  • Do not rely on the old OEM antenna for GPS.

  • Ensure the Android unit’s GPS antenna is firmly connected.

  • Reposition the antenna if interior metal parts block the signal.

  • Replace damaged or low-quality antennas to restore performance.

Universal GPS Troubleshooting for All Vehicles

Regardless of the car model, these steps improve navigation accuracy:

  • Update map apps and system firmware to fix drifting or slow positioning.

  • Enable High Accuracy Mode (GPS + WiFi + data).

  • Reset AGPS data to rebuild satellite information.

  • Ensure stable power and grounding during installation to prevent interference.
